Emma Sykes

Emma was born and educated on the Island before spending three years at university in Brighton. She joined the States of Jersey Police in 2008 where she has enjoyed a varied and interesting career. Her daughter was born in 2019 and during her maternity leave, Emma set up a local mum’s group with the aim of bringing new mums together. Hearing numerous birthing stories from women in the group prompted Emma to join the MVP to give a voice to these women and their families, with the aim of improving all areas of Jersey Maternity services. Emma is the Safeguarding Lead for the MVP. She has is qualified in Adult and Child Safeguarding, is a Mental Health First Aider and is also a Perinatal Mental Health Peer Support Worker.
